Bands with history like Foreigner were bound to have a wide and diverse body of work. And in Foreigner’s case, this discography consists of 9 studio albums, 7 live albums, 20 compilation albums, and 47 singles.

Seven of the band’s studio albums have reached the top 30 of the Billboard 200, with the album, 4, being the only one to have topped the charts in the US. And in the UK, Agent Provocateur was the only album to reach the top of the UK Albums Chart. And as you can guess, this success was critical and commercial, as Foreigner has sold more than 80 million copies worldwide with nearly 40 million of them in the US alone.

As for their singles, 14 of them became top 20 hits in the Billboard Hot 100 charts, including the #1 hit single, “I Want to Know What Love Is” and the #2 hit “Waiting for a Girl Like You”. That latter song even spent 10 weeks at the number 2 spot on the chart, setting a new world record. Four of Foreigner’s singles became Gold-certified by the RIAA with over a million copies sold.

What’s interesting about the band is that they’ve only enjoyed moderate success in the UK singles charts, despite their British roots. With only the two aforementioned singles peaking within the top 20 slots.
